Recently, Professor Chris Butler addressed the United Nations regarding the PANORAMIC Trial and the assistance of BAPS UK & Europe.

"To all the esteemed delegates gathered at the United Nations as we celebrate the life and work of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

BAPS UK & Europe have been a huge strength in reaching communities through the Temple during the COVID-19 Pandemic for both vaccination rollout and in the continued and phenomenal support it has given in promoting and increasing engagement in our two UK-wide national priority trials in the search for effective treatment of COVID-19 in the community.

At the University of Oxford we were privileged and honoured to be invited to the opening of the COVID Health hub during the centenary celebrations of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj and the Festival of Inspiration, and meeting with Sadhu Yogvivekdas and fellow saints.

It was indeed truly inspirational for us all to see the wonderful work that BAPS UK & Europe has been doing in supporting people’s health in the community and in helping to improve health and reduce health inequalities. We have now established a Centre of Research Equity at the University of Oxford (headed by our Professor Mahendra Patel) where BAPS UK & Europe will be a key partner in helping to ensure widespread and representative inclusivity in clinical studies.

Finally, as we all know so well, "In the joy of others lies our own." I would like to further add that in the health of others lies our own health; through wide participation in medical research, we ensure that the results apply and are meaningful to all to the benefit of everyone.  Thank you."
